Translated website, I would like your opinion

    Hi,

    I explain you the situation:
    I am french, and one of my clients needed an english translated website.
    As I don’t speak enough good english, I hire a freelance translator on the web. After a quick reading of the document, I am not sure that the work have been done professionally and I would like the opinion of perfect english speakers. So here is below a sample part of the text I received:

    Thanks for reply, Saying “not perfect” does that mean for you it is really not good or is it really awful ?

    I found your sampled translated text difficult to speed read and frequently had to reread sentences for full comprehension.

    Sophisticated word processors usually have some sort of built in readability test such as this one: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP101485061033.aspx

    If your site is to try and sell a product to native English speakers then I would suggest getting the text checked by professionals.

    If you have Microsoft Word then switch languages to English and run the tests and show us the results.

    My native language is English.

    Yeah, this is exactly the problem, it should have been checked by a professional that I found on Internet (a freelance translator) but the result job is really awfull, that’s what I wanted to know. Thanks for your answer.
