    hi there,

I have a blog in EE and the author is my friend. If he writes a new entry or modify a previous one, its status will be CLOSED automatically.

This exists since I upgraded to the present version and I installe MSMt.

What’s the problem and the solution?

    Thanks in advance,
    Richard

Is closed the default status? I.e., does this happen to you also, or only to him? Are you in the same usergroup? Perhaps his group has no access to the Open status? Also, you might want to upgrade, 1.6.0 is half a year old, or so. 1.6.2 is the current version.

    default status is the open.
    This happen only to him.
He’s in an other user group than me.

How can I check his group has no access to the Open status?

    Hi Richard,

The place to check would be :

    Admin->Weblog Administration->Weblog Management->Edit Groups (Your Weblog)->Status Group

Ensure that you have one selected in there, hopefully that should do it?

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Hi Richard,

When you say you can see the group can access the open status, where are you seeing this? If you go to the place I mentioned then you should have a drop-down menu which allows you to assign a status group to a weblog.

I have attached an image to this post which should hopefully mean we are at the same place in the admin panel.

Is that where you are at the moment?

In the image, where I currently have None next to the Status Group if yours says that then you need to select the status group from that drop-down menu and then update.

    Hope that helps?

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Richard, this problem is caused by the weblog in question not having a default status group associated with it.

Once you select a status group other than None, your users will be able to change statuses as needed.

    Thanks for the assist, guys!

    No problems. Any time! 😉

Also Richard a bit of information here on the matter for you, particularly the part under Status Group.

    Best wishes,

user is Izsák Tamás, user group is Apex Editor, the blog name is Oracle ApexBlog, I use the APEXblog Status Group to this weblog and the Apex Editor user group can access this status group as the image shows you.

Richard, can you upgrade to the newest version/build of EE? You’re on a really old build.
