    Hello,

I was wondering how would you purpose on creating this type of portfolio page I am thinking of putting together. http://mobygreen.com/portfolio/ Where the main page has the thumbnails of the different type of work (Web Design, Graphic, Photography and so forth) and then each thumbnail links to that project page! Would I have to create my own thumbnail?

    Thanks,

Should be easy- first decision is whether to go with the gallery or the weblog module to handle the data.  I’d go with the weblog module for flexibility.

Then- decide whether you want to create the thumbs when you upload the main image- easy to do, the file upload gives you the option.  Or- my preference- upload the image, add just the link in a custom field- formatting set to ‘none’.  Then you can use plugins to create/cache a thumb on the fly.  Some folks like phpThumb()- not a plugin, but search and you’ll find good info.  I’ve lately been using image sizer, which is simple and does the job.

    Hello,

So I would create a new weblog with the field of image(Original Size), project information. Then on the main page I would pull the images from those weblogs. I am i thinking of it right? As for the thumbnails when I grab it to the main page how does the image sizer change the size?

    Thanks,

How can I just grab the images on the main page with the thumbnails that it created on the file and have it link it to each of the project main page?

You’re just using a weblog tag to show it- so all of the weblog variables can be used.  Here’s a quick sample from a site using the image resizer:

    That help?
