Ok, some time ago I said I would be posting EE goodies on my site and have had little or not time since to make good that claim. But today I posted a very simple plugin on my site that is basically a replacement for the existing ‘Word Limiter’ plugin.

It truncates text to a specified number of characters without breaking words, removes html tags, appends an optional finishing string (i.e ‘...’) and wraps the whole lot in an html tag of your choosing - if you choose.

I really only made it because I needed it, but it’s here if you want it.

It would be nice if there was some kind of conditional, that checked wether or not your text was actually being truncated or not. If {title} did exceed 60 characters, add “...” in the end, if not leave it be.

    Nice plugin none the less
