I couldn’t find an answer to my question anywhere. Does anyone have the slightest clue when it might be released? or maybe, around which month? eh? eh? eh?

also, is there a page that shows what more will be done with expressionengine 2? What features it will have, etc?

did I post this in the wrong place? so many questions…

    No one knows.
I’d assume that even when/if a beta is ready, I doubt it will become public news.

    Patience!
    😊

We are previewing EE 2.0 this weekend at SXSW. The info we release at SXSW will be made available when we get back from SXSW and my guess is that people in the community will have it available on their blogs and in these forums before we do.

As the Knowledge Base article points out we do not give release dates in advance and this isn’t going to change with EE 2.0. It will be released when its done. This means we will not be announcing a release date at SXSW for those of you taking bets.

We are talking a 2008 launch though? Cant wait to see it, i can understand the reasons for you not giving any kind of release date but this is getting a little frustrating and im sure im not the only one!

I want my early Christmas present early this year 😊

I’m not frustrated and I really don’t understand why anyone would be.  We can’t plan for promised features because none have been divulged.  We all assume there is going to be a 2.0 at some point simply because that is the next number after 1.0.  Beyond that, the anticipation is all fantasy.  I am most excited about the integrated rocket ship which may be included with the 2.0 release.

The current version is capable.  There are things which I believe ExpressionEngine is getting a little behind on but if I wanted those things bad enough I could develop them myself.  I Build with what I have.  If not available, I build it or find it elsewhere.  The excitement is whats going on today, not tomorrow.

I just want to officially say to TheStig that we share your same frustrations. We think our policies represent the best of all the options available but that doesn’t mean people won’t be frustrated. I know John and OrganizedFellow are just having some fun with their responses but I wanted to make clear that its a serious issue that we put a lot of consideration into.
