I know, what else is new, but sometimes even the dimmest bulbs generate enough static to flicker:

    1. In any file, write TODO (or any other word, like FIXME of CHANGED) followed by, well, what to do.

    2. At the start of a working session, do a multi-file search of your CI application folder for the chosen term “TODO” (CI system folder has some TODOs already).

    3. The search result window will list all your TODOs. You can preview the task in the bottom pane and click an item to open the file at the TODO.

I find that dropping in a quick TODO comment in the code for a future task is a great way of not breaking your flow and train of thought while coding. Sitting down again, the search results window will ensure that you quickly tie up loose ends or start new threads.

No better way of getting things done than ignoring all those apps that claim to do it for you and put your code editor to work.

(A small PS for TextMate users: yeah, I know.)
