I’ve read some helpful posts here about the magpie plug-in, but I can’t find an answer to my situation.

I have an EE-powered blog, and I’d like to bring some 3rd-party articles & blog posts in via RSS feeds.

Here are some questions I have about Magpie though…

    1.  How are the 3rd-party entries categorized?  Do they show up amongst my blog posts, or are they in a totally different section?

    2.  On the right side of my blog I have “blog archives” and “recent blog posts”.  Do I need to create a whole new section entitled “post from X site”, or will those RSS’d titles now show up as “recent posts” amongst my own in the existing right-side area?

    3.  I’m still a little lost about how to implement.  Could someone provide 5-6 bullet points on the steps to get magpie going?  (starting from the Control Panel)

    4.  Similarly, I’m a little lost about how the magpie posts are displayed.  Could someone give me a simple summary on how these posts are now displayed and accessed by my readers?

Thanks, I really appreciate the help.

There seems to be a basic misunderstanding what feed-syndication is generally about.

The 3rd-party articles are not meant to be permanently stored at one’s own site.

You are only supposed to display parts or all of the information that is in the current newsfeed of the site you are syndicating while linking back to them. Once their feed updates, so does the “lent” content on your site.
