    It has been brought to my attention from a forum member that my sig is annoying to them.  I have attempted to tone it down, but that member stated that they have not seen others using an img sig and that it’s annoying to see my “banner ad” (their words) on every one of my posts.  I’m assuming this member is excluding CI employees from the img sig statement.

    So, I throw it out to the community, is it annoying?  Am I wrong in using my signature to state the company I own and run?

    If you all think it’s annoying then I will remove it.

    Honestly, it’s the first time I ever been told my sig is annoying.

    It is Hard to Read but if you change the font in the president text it should be ok.

    Forget about this post. According to the member who complained, I’m going to cause people to measure me by my sig rather than the quality of my posts.  This member also claims that people around here are too nice to say my sig is out of place even though I asked for opinions.

    Sig has been removed.  I don’t want something as pedantic as a signature to tarnish my reputation or have people ignoring the content of my posts.

    Well I didn’t see the Sig myself, so I have no opinion on it, but there are a two points worth mentioning here.

    1) We have images in sigs enabled as a feature.  In ExpressionEngine forums, this can be shut off if you want.  We have not shut this feature off, so obviously, the basic idea of images in signatures doesn’t bother us.

    2) If someone is really that bugged by image signatures, then they have two really simple options.  The first is to use another built in feature of the ExpressionEngine forum module, and that’s to turn off signatures in your member preferences (Display member signatures in entries?).  And if it’s just the images that bug them, they can always add a custom stylesheet that sets fieldset.signature img {display:none;}

    Some people use animated GIFs for their avatars and it personally bugs me, but you know, instead of complaining to them, I just install a browser add-on that prevents animated GIFs from looping.

    Well, you asked for honesty:

    It didn’t really bother me but I think it’s hideous and doesn’t really reflect kindly on your company.

    Thanks for your honesty Mike!

    Really!

    Since the sig is gone though, it doesn’t really matter now.

    Oh, and since I have your attention Mike, BZ’s on your service to the US in the USAF!!!  I did my time in the Navy on a boomer during desert storm.
