Obviously, I am new in this forum. I have one question regarding purchase commercial EE Core package. I wonder if I can use one order of EE Core package for unlimited uses on different domain names or I need to purchase multi-order of EE Core package for more than 2 domain names?

EE Core is free.

And I don’t think you can use EE Core for a commercial site.

I’m confused. So then what is the multisite manager thing all about? From the above text it seems to put restrictions on the number of installations, not domains. So hypothetically if I install once to a single server, but somehow use virtual IPs or sub-domains or maybe symliks or whatever, I could conceivably run multiple sites and still be within the legal bounds (though not perhaps the intent) of the license agreement.

The per installation is not directly related to domains, more about per server or per client.  You can use a single installation to run multiple domains, so long as the domains are for the same client.

Ok, I have eight domain names under one web hosting server. All of them are mine and I can install one EE commerical program for all eight domain names?

Actually, with that list, it looks like all the sites will have the exact same content, so EE wouldn’t be the issue, your webhost would. It would seem that you would just want all those domains to redirect to a primary, such as amerisilan.com or the designated IP. Pretty much your creating aliases, and some hosting companies have limits on how many you can have pointing to a single account, but you don’t need EE for it.

Of course, if each domain was going to have different content or a different look, then EE would come into play and yes a single install could handle it; complying with whatever limitations your ISP place.

Thanks for your interest in EE. I’ve just got a few things to add.

1. The EE license allows for a single installation of ExpressionEngine for 1 entity (a person, a company, a non-profit, etc…).
2. A “Site” in the MSM refers to a unique set of preferences within ExpressionEngine that can be applied to a unique domain, a sub-domain, a sub-folder, etc… For example, we use the MSM to run EllisLab.com, CodeIgniter.com, and ExpressionEngine.com off a single EE installation.
3. The MSM is meant to run *related* internet properties. Though you can have unique settings for each Site a few things, like the Membership database, are shared installation wide.

If you haven’t watched the MSM Video that’s a good place to start.

In your domain examples if all those domains are exactly the same “site” meaning, the content and the visual design is the same and all the domains simply point to one spot, than you probably don’t need the MSM at all. It would be a matter of having your web host setup the domains to point to the primary domain on your account.
