    Using EE 1.6.1 Build 20071114
    Photo Gallery Module v. 1.2

When attempting to upload a New Entry in the Photo Gallery Module, I receive errors that indicate a page header problem.

In Firefox 2.0.0.11, it attempts to download the file as if a “Content-Type application/x-httpd-php” header is being returned to the client instead of the correct “Content-Type text/html…”

    In Safari 3.0.4, I get a “Safari can’t open the page “http://www.drycreekcommunity.org/hive/index.php?
S=31d8bada4a4528f3e56ee535488504ec2e4e538d&C=modules&M=gallery&P=insert_new_entry” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection…”

Everything checked out a few weeks back when I was initially testing, but I didn’t test the Gallery module after upgrading to the latest EE build. Any idea what’s happening and what fixes the problem? I’ve got a client eager to start uploading image.

Thanks for whatever help you can give.

Additional information: This also happens in Batch Entries when I attempt to Submit This Entry. It seems to happen when an images is submitted for entry in the database.

Ok, first - you’re a build behind, so if you can update to the latest build, that will also force a refresh of your files, which might fix this on its own.

Also, are you running any .htaccess files?

And lastly - does the file upload from the publish form work?

Okay, fyi, updating to the latest build didn’t do it and strangely enough we’ve been able to Publish and Edit posts all morning.

    Adding the lines:

    AddType application/x-httpd-php .html .php .htm
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .html .php .htm

to the .htaccess file seems to have solved the problem. I wish I knew why it was suddenly necessary. I thought it might have been an Apache or PHP upgrade or change by the hosting service, but there isn’t any notice of a change. I’d say it was related to the recent Firefox and Safari upgrades, but those shouldn’t be affected by modifying the .htaccess file. Very interesting….  😕

Anyhow, it seems to be working again. Thanks for your help and suggestions. I’d say Happy Holidays but I’ve got another question coming up.  😜

Before those changes, were you able to upload files in the publish form? Not just add and edit posts.

I’m glad you got it working, and thanks for posting the solution!  Things suddenly not working are often indicative of an environment change - this one sounds more related to your host than your browser, though.  Might be worth to ask your hosting service.

Actually, I did have hit a problem trying to upload an image in the Publish form. Again, this was something new that happened and because I was on someone else’s system, I initially thought it was their system. The problem only occurred when I attempted to “submit” a file, like an image. There *was* temporary glitch with the Event Calendar as well, however. Despite everything being set up to show future entries, I couldn’t get an entry past December 31, 2007 to appear. That problem disappeared when I got back to my own system and recreated the listings. But by then, I’d already made the change to the .htaccess file as well.

I put in an inquiry to the hosting service, just in case they did an upgrade or patch and didn’t put it in the news log. I hate tech anomalies.

Happy Holidays and may your New Year be filled with joy, health, peace and prosperity!
