    Ok, new problem :\

Did the update from 1.6 to 1.6.1, everything went fine. Can still view my site.

When I try to go to my control panel page, i am presented with the main page of my site which only says “coming soon”. (i can still navigate to the pages I have created though and all the functionality works).

Checked my config file and path file (still using the same ones as before) and the URL to my control panel looks right, as it has always been.

    Help!

Edit: I have removed my htcaccess file but now when i try to navigate to the control panel I get a 403 forbidden page. Also, trying to view my other pages results in 403 errors.

Here is my htaccess file, incase that helps..

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond $1 !^(images|jquery|js|oracle|themes|index\.php|google11bc5ceee3ff8083\.html|path\.php|rollout\.css|core\.css|reset\.css) [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L]

Did you run update.php, Briggs? Doesn’t look like you did, based on that error.

Ohhhhh right, 1.6 to 1.6.1 requires me to do the update thing.. this isn’t just a normal copy and replace some files thing is it, for a build update.. Oops. Will start over :D

Still no luck with this.. can’t access my control panel.

Is there a setting in a database table I should be looking for? The only thing I know if is the cp path in the config file.

All my files are where they should be, permissions are all set. I don’t understand why it defaults to my home “coming soon” page when I try to access the control panel.

I’d hate to have to reinstall everything. I have 6000+ entries all categorized and what not!

No- no need to reinstall.  Let’s try this with the htaccess file removed for now.  Do you have firefox with live headers installed?  I’d probably try going to your system folder index page with live headers on- see why it’s redirecting you.  And- are you dead sure you’re going to the right url?  it should by mysite.com/system/index.php - where ‘system’ is the name of your system folder (which you likely renamed).
