    Hello,
    I’m new in here.

I’ve one of most know portal in north africa which includes forum, chat, news etc… I’ve 20,000 users and more than the half are active. I’ve also a dedicated server.

I’ve heard alot about EE, about how much is powerful, how much the support team is quite helpful but I need to ask some important questions berfor purchasing the EE script :

    1. I know that EE can be a multiuser webblog, but I need to know, did EE uses the subdomains ? I want that my users could have something like : user.mywebsite.com as an address to get directly to their webblog. Is it possible with EE ?

    2. I want to put some adsens in the home page, do you consider that as a comercial website or not ?

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, it’s sounding like EE may not be a good choice for this one.  The license prohibits:

Use the Software as the basis of a hosted weblogging service, or to provide hosting services to others.

While you can have communal weblogs for user generated content, it sounds like you may be providing something along the lines of a hosted blogging service.  If you’re not sure- I’d suggest contacting .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and giving them the details of the site in question.  They can help you figure out if EE is right for the project.

As to ads- simply having ads on a site doesn’t make the site commercial.  If you answer ‘yes’ to:
    1. Is the primary purpose of the site to make money?
    or
    2. Is the purpose of the site to support a legal business or professional service in any way?
It’s probably a commercial site.  If you answer ‘no’ to both, it’s probably not (see Kblog

Hope this helps a little- you’ll want to make sure the site complies with the EE license before digging too deep.  EE isn’t setup to automatically create a subdomain/weblog for each of your users- but if you need it to do so, it’s likely that the site wouldn’t comply with the license.
