once i switch on PHP in EE, is it possible to include() an external php document into an EE template?  i have an external PHP file i’ve written to dynamical generate a nav menu (nested <ul>‘s) from the EE weblog db table.

i have a thread (a very confusing rambling thread) here ...

if anyone can shed some light on this, i’d be grateful.

I’ve moved this to how-to as it’s really not a pre-sales question.  However, yes, you can use PHP to include external documents if your server will allow you to use PHP includes with full URLs.  Many servers won’t allow that for security reasons.  If you can PHP Include with a full path, as well, that should work.
