We are building a mini site for one of our clients for a contest they are holding and I would just like to know if the Corp. Version of EE would meet our needs. I’m particularly interested in the Image Gallery Module.

    Here is low down:

The contest we are holding is a photoshop contest. Users will be submitting their photoshopped images to the contest site along with their contact info.

We would like to be able to moderate the submissions before they are displayed and post the approved photos in a gallery, and trash or hide the rejected photos.

Would this be pretty easy to do? I am fairly experienced with EE but have never built anything quite like this.

    Thanks!

    Hi, louderthan10—

I’d actually say that you’d be better off to use the weblog module, with custom fields appropriate to a gallery, to do this.  The reason for that is that the gallery really is intended as a simple photo gallery and does not have a stand alone entry form type setup.  You could use Gallery Extended 2 from Solspace.com with the Photo Gallery Module; but from what you described, a weblog as a gallery would really be ideal.

Yes I suppose it wouldn’t be too hard to implement using the weblog module. I’ll have to wrap my head around a few things but I’m sure it shouldn’t be too bad. Thanks!

Many people here use the weblog module for galleries, so you’ll have plenty of help. You might consider searching for Image Sizer or PHPThumb - to help you along. =)
