I’m hoping to rebuild one of my company’s websites with EE. One feature though I’m not sure can be done with EE.

There is an area only available to registered users, where they can download high-res images. But before they download any image we have a form asking for a few details. I’d like the form to auto-display name & contact details based on their login and details we already have - but also ask for reasons they want the images.

Is there something in EE that will allow me to get this form to appear when a user hits ‘download’ and can the records of what has been downloaded and by whom be stored within the EE database, or will it have to go to another db?

Database stuff really isn’t my area so keen to keep this as simple as possible…

    Thanks

Hi, John, Welcome to our community!

I’m not aware of any out of the box facility for doing this, unless they weren’t yet registered (ie: force them to register to see the form).  That said, you could probably do something with FreeForm from solspace.com; check to see if the form was filled out, and supply the download link if so.  It might take some custom code, potentially using the Query module to do this, but it should be possible.

You can also check out our Development API if you wanted to code something as a module, plugin, or extension.

Thanks Lisa, that’s a great starting point for me to start working from at the very least.

Thanks again for the quick reply
