I have installed EE a million and one times….I think I may be able to do it in my sleep. However I am having a hell of a time getting it installed on an Ensim server that puts a stupid dash in the database name….... domain_com_-_DBNAME. This is THE ONLY difference I can find in this installation and every other one I have done on a server running the Ensim software. I can’t get past page 5 of the install and I get the following error.

1. Unable to connect to your database server.
2. Unable to select the database

I’m at a loss….

Hm- I know a $ in the db name has been known to cause issues, but I don’t think an underscore should.  I think I have db names with underscores.  Could it be a permissions issue?  One thing that might get us a bit more info- in ‘system/utilities there’s a database test file- dbtest.php.  Fire that up, see if we can get anything from that.

What are you tapping into the db hostname field?
