    Lo all,

Two issues here.  A few years back I had two hd failures in a row on my sever.  Stopped hosting the site I was hosting with pmachine pro (1.32 i think).  Yesterday I was going through all my hd’s and found one from the server with backups on it (omg, backups work!).
I had a dump of the database for the site, as well as all the site files.

Copying them to the new server, importing the data from the dump, and setting user permissions on the database, i went to the newly uploaded old site and it seemed to work.  front page showed 10 latest posts, all seemed well.  clicking on the link at the bottom to go to the next 10 posts would refresh the page, with the slightly changed url, but the same 10 posts. ( ... weblog.php?id=10 )
Looking at the posts by date showed me that they were all there, but clicking on any of the post titles (even those showing up on the front page) would give me an Invalid page request (while displaying everything but the actual data from the mysql database)  (comments.php?id=P106_0_1_0_C is an example of the url’s).

So that’s the first issue, can’t seem to read all the posts.

Second issue is that I can not remember what my username / pass is to get into the admin control panel 😊  oops.  I’ll check the knowledge base as well, just putting that in this post while typing.

    thanks for reading.

Hee- yep, that’s pretty far back there in time!  So- you’re wanting to get the pm site up and running?  There is a pMachine section now- I could link you to that.  But it’s been so long since I used pm, there’s just no way I could trouble shoot it.

Need a link?  Or are you looking to try to import into EE?

Probably import into EE.  Tho from what I recall (and I could be wrong here) there are quite a few changes, so I’ll have to be redoing my templates and what not.

If you could link the pm section that would be nice too.

Aha- I found the pMachine Pro section.  I personally would prefer to have it up and running normally before importing.  Just reduces the possible glitches.  But if that’s not happening?  I’d probably try a test import all the same and see how it works out.

so, it seems that site was running pmachine free.  just to complicate things a little more =)

I couldn’t find it in the docs, but can i upgrade from that to eecore or should i get it to pmachine pro first then upgrade?

anyone with any experience in either?

See the docs on updating from pMachine Pro or Free to EE, make sure to review the Notes on that page.

    ta lisa.

just for any who have the same or similar issues, i didn’t bother getting the pmachine install working, just imported to eecore and it worked quite well.  the pmachine problem will remain a mystery for all time now… maybe become a local legend one day, if it plays it’s cards correctly.

thanks for all the patience shown =)
