Not sure if anyone else has had this problem or if anyone knows what’s going on…but, I sent a HTML email from the communicate module to two different email addresses.  When I viewed the email from my mac email account, everything looked just the way it was supposed to.  However, when I viewed the exact same message in my Yahoo! email account, more than half of the message was truncated…any ideas???

1) What version and build are you running?
2) Are you using Yahoo original or Yahoo beta email?

If I had to guess, and I do since I don’t use Yahoo mail =) I’d guess that it didn’t like the code.  Can you view the source of the mail and see where it truncated? That would be a good starting point.  Also, how long was the email, including code? Perhaps Yahoo has some sort of limit.

I am using Yahoo original.

The truncating is happening at about line 53 of 156 lines of code; nothing unusual there, just a paragraph break.

Can you try updating to the latest build before we proceed, and see if that helps?

I would recommend updating to the latest build; yours is about a month behind, and while this particular issue will not be impacted, there are a number of significant bug fixes and improvements.

Have you tried the email in Yahoo Beta?  When testing EE’s email handling with various mail agents, we have to test against what is current, and the development direction that third parties are moving.  Yahoo’s Beta email parsing is dramatically different in what it allows and expects to see in HTML emails, and as they are not continuing development on the original, it is the one we have to target to try to support.

As a followup, are you supplying alternate plain text content?  I believe that may have better success with the older mail client.

Hmmm, very interesting…I just checked the message in Yahoo Beta, and it looks just fine; just the way it should.
I’ll go ahead and update to the latest version/build.
