    Hello everyone,

    I’m a new EE user and am trying to install the version, 1.6.0. I followed the EE installation wizard and completed all the necessary fields, however when I get sent to the next page I get the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function rss_2() in /home/.name/username/example.com/install.php on line 2124 (I have changed the path)

    Any ideas as to why this would happen and how to fix it so the installation can continue?

    Regards.

    That part of the install is looking for the /themes/site_themes/rss/rss.php file. Make sure you uploaded all the files in the /themes folder.

    Hey Axle.  That function is part of themes/site_themes/rss/rss.php in the themes folder, so that error would indicate that it couldn’t include that file.  At any rate, it is just there for compatibility with older EE versions, and if this is a new install, it should be an easy fix (provided you are using the default EE theme).

    Could you try this for me.
    1) re-FTP up the themes folder.  Ensure it is readable by your webserver.
    1a) Try installing again and see if you get the error.  If you do…
    2) Open up install.php and comment out 2124 and 2134

    // $temp = str_replace("{stylesheet=weblog/weblog_css}", "{stylesheet=site/site_css}", rss_2());

    and

    // $temp = str_replace("{stylesheet=weblog/weblog_css}", "{stylesheet=site/site_css}", atom());

    3) Save and upload the new install file and try again.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Edit: Is there an echo in here 😉

    Hehe thanks for the quick responses Sue and Derek. I’ve been having loads of trouble with my FTP programming timing out, so perhaps some of the files weren’t uploaded properly (or at all). I’m currently trying to re-upload EE. Will let you know how it turns out.

    Derek and Sue:

    Thank you. It turns out that I did in fact need to re-upload the EE files. Once I did that everything worked.

    Thanks again.
