I am currently trying out the hosted 30 day demo.

I have a line of code as follows:

    {venue} on {gigdate format="%D %F %d"}

    Which should display like this:

Wembley Stadium on Fri August 24

But instead the date gets put on a new line:

    Wembley Stadium
    on Fri August 24

Looking at the source it has changed the code to this:

    london bridge
     on Fri August 24

...plus then a load of commented out RDF data, including a trackback for a domain Ive never heard of (is this normal)

Any ideas what it’s doing here?

    Thanks alot

What is happening is that your {venue} field is probably formatted as xhtml. That means there are paragraph tags added to it. If you reformat the field to none, they’ll go away.

What do the different formatting options do?

OK, yes that was the case, thanks

I see that old posts that have already been added dont get reformatted, only new ones since making the change to the formatting option…?

Also, what about all that RDF garbage thats getting added to my post. Is someone being pinged about my testing account!???

You can retroactively change the format for existing entries.  When you go in and edit the field?  If you change the format, a little checkbox will appear down near the submit button:

Note: You have selected a different field formatting choice then what was previously saved.
[] Update all existing site entries with your new formatting choice?

Check that?  The old entries will be changed for you.

The RDF stuff?  It’s added automatically if you allow trackbacks.  But- you can prevent it from showing on a per tag basis by using the rdf=“off” parameter.  (Or not allowing trackbacks.)

    Make sense?
