I’ve got pretty far with my wiki development without help, but I need help now figuring out how to position graphics on the page, in tables.  I’m taking this code from my Novels weblog:  The existing page looks like this:

    http://www.elmoreleonard.com/index.php?/novels/the_bounty_hunters/

here is the code:  (I removed the brackets for this post.)

    img src=“https://ellislab.com/asset/images/team-photo/01N01FE.jpg” border=“0” alt=“image” name=“image” width=“140” height=“175” border=“0” align=“left”  valign=“top” /

Publisher: Boston : Houghton Mifflin, 1953
    Edition</b;:Hardcover
    <b>Format
    : First Edition
    Pages: 180 pages
    Original Price:  $2.00
    LC Control Number: 54005563
    Genre: Western
    Setting: Southern Arizona
    Special Notes: First published novel.
    Characters:David Flynn, Soldado Viejo

EE Wiki appears to be formatting the table.

Of course, the image call is wrong, but when I attempt to conform it to the wiki syntax the “v align” doesn’t work.

I’m hoping you can shed some light on this.

What are your formatting options for the wiki?  What formatting type, and allow all HTML?

    my wiki settings are:

    Text Formatting for Articles:    Xhtml

Actually, I’m not following quite what is the problem here. You say “EE is formatting the table” - what is it you wish to happen?  You just want the table without any EE intervention?

    Sorry for being so esoteric.
My problem is a combination of graphics, tables and ignorance.

in my ‘Novels” blog, i have this arrangement for the book cover images:

    img src=“https://ellislab.com/asset/images/team-photo/01N01FE.jpg” border=“0” alt=“image” name=“image” width=“140” height=“175” border=“0” align=“left”  valign=“top”

A book cover image is on the left and copy about the book aligns right.

In the wiki, I have to upload the graphics using its bracketed code.  The code for the uploaded image is

That’s why I say it’s a table issue because what I know from HTML (valign) doesn’t work in the wiki.

So I guess the semi-coherent question is:  How do I use the wiki image scheme with brackets and still be able to create tables in the EE wiki like in HTML?

    Hope that makes more sense.

You could just use actual HTML to format the images - you do not *have* to use the brackets. If you need to float an image, etc, then the full HTML is more appropriate.

I used full HTML and the full path to the images.  It works, but I thought I could do something simplier.  Thanks.
