Here’s the shorthand version:
- have backup database from 1.5.2
- no longer have access to old site server
- moved to new host
- desktop crashed
- need the old 1.5.2 EE so I can keep my database - I don’t want to lose anything.
per instructions, move current EE, before upgrading.
does anyone have a super secret site link to download the 1.5.2 version?

We do not actually make older versions available. If you have the database backup for 1.5.2, you should be safe to import it to your new host, upload the files for 1.6 as per the update to a new version and double-check permissions, and run update.php. You will want to make sure you have your backed up config.php and path.php.
This is not ideal, of course, but given the situation, this is what we’ve got. =)
And of course keep the backup handy in case things do go awry.
