This may be (check that; it probably is) a stupid question.

I’m setting up the discussion forum module, and would like to have the forum URL be something other than example.com/index.php/forums/—I’d like to change “forums” to “community.” However, whenever I make this change in Default Preferences > General Settings > Forum URL, the resulting URL doesn’t work—the link just points to the weblog index. Changing the “short name” to match doesn’t make a difference.

What do I need to do beyond this? Am I missing something? My only guess is to change the forum directory to “community” on the server.

Make sure you also change the forum trigger-word, that should fix it up. =)

    That did it!

See? I told you it was a stupid question. Thanks, Lisa.

Not at all stupid, quite easy to miss if you don’t know how important that word is. =)
