I have a page (module) e.g. /section-a/text-page with existing content on it, but on Jan 1st I want to update this with new content. I could easily update this page on Jan 1, however I have around 30 pages of changes that need to be made, and would rather be able to start this now and work on it, and automatically publish this on Jan 1st.

I don’t know the best way to go forward with this? Ideas welcome!

Page/module?  Confused there. EE uses modules as a way to add functionality to the system so using that word for other reasons confuses us old timers..😉

There is no way natively to schedule updates to an existing entry like that. Well, there may be a hackish way to do it with a custom date field and additional content field, but it wouldn’t be clean from a content management perspective.

Each entry has a publish date that can be set in the future but it affects the whole entry. EE doesn’t have the ability to have one entry live, and one entry staged, and flip those around on a certain date while keeping the same URL.

http://betterworkflow.electricputty.co.uk/ might do the trick as it allows draft revisions of live content, but on a quick glance I didn’t see if publishing could be scheduled.

Sorry should think before I type. We are using better workflow anyway, and are fully aware for the entry dates etc. for publishing. May well look at writing a script to take the draft version of a better workflow entry to live. Thanks for taking the time to respond 😊
