    Hello. Total noob to EE here, but fairly experienced in web/html/php etc since a decade back.

    I just started fiddling with EE today, and after having done the installation and usual Hello World examples, I started looking at variables and quickly found these interesting ones: {email}, {webmaster_email} and the seemingly awesome {encode}

    However, when trying to be clever, I noticed one thing

    {encode="{webmaster_email}” title=“Contact Us!”} - Works as you would assume.

    {encode="{email}” title=“Contact Us!”} - Does not!

    On screen, it outputs: {email" title="Contact Us!"}
    where {email” linked (like this: “mailto:{email”’

    Any ideas?

    If you create a global variable it will work.  However, it adds these characters to the end:  ”

    {encode="{email}” title=“Contact Us!”}

    Using version 2.9.1.
