I’m trying to get a client’s Expression Engine site up and running locally. I don’t have any problem logging into the admin panel ([local.url]/system), but accessing the project root or any subpages result in a 403 ‘Forbidden’ error. I’ve changed the folder permissions to what’s described here: http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/installation/installation.html but it seems to have no effect.

Any ideas? I’ve tried setting other folders and files to 777, but so far no luck.

I’m happy to post configuration info, etc… just let me know what you need to see.

    Welcome to the forums

Have you by any chance got an index.html file in the root folder? Also are you using .htaccess to remove index.php? May be worth disabling that…
