Just throwing this out for discussion and see if anyone has any ideas that might not be either readily know or found easily on the internet. My company is exploring the possibilities of using EE as our CMS, but management is very security conscious and thus we need to have a very secure/controllable method for logging contributors in and out of EE.
I have been looking at the LDAP plugin that is floating around out there and have got it “attached” to our AD network and oddly enough, authenticating only certain users. It could come down to a packet problem or the amount of groups a user has or even a weird configuration option that the windows administrators have setup and thus causing the syncing issue.
I have been searching the internet for any other authentication methods that are available and haven’t found much. We have a Radius server at our disposal, but again, nothing found nor talked about. Mgt is even open to third party, cloud options or whatever that could be the intermediary for our authentication, but again, nothing. Management really would like to control users via AD or LDAP or something else like that.
I would just like people to chime in if they want on either options they have tried or maybe options i have not found/considered.
