Hey gang! I am working on a site that includes “hours of operation” or a modal that pops up and says “today our park is closed” etc.  I was thinking of having a ticker type scroll across showing the hours of operation and then a message of Today we are closed/open.  I have way too much java going on and there are too many moving parts with a slide-show that covers most of the screen.

I want the owner of the site to be able to go in and set the hours of operation to show if the park is open or closed based on the day or server timestamp.  I was thinking of using a channel for this with maybe a sticky. That way the owner can create a date and time within the channel, but then make the channel sticky for the upcoming season?  The sticky would be used more for if the weather was bad - they could drop in a “closed today” immediately overriding the standard hours.

I would LOVE to hear what you all think.  How could this be achieved easily…without too much training or continuous updating by the owner. I am sure I am over complicating things in my head.

    Any ideas? Suggestions?

Well actually javascripting will help you to achieve that. You have to also make use of the SSL and modify programming according to that if the tickets are not free of cost. Right??  By the way does your site gives information on any other business. ??
