For certain entries on my client’s site, including the homepage, we are getting a blank screen after submitting the publish form in EE 2.7.2 MSM.  Turning on debugging in admin.php doesn’t reveal any errors (nor are there any JS errors being reported).  The channel entry is not submitted when this happen.  I’ve seen it happen on certain entries in a channel but not others.  It’s hard to further diagnose or explain the problem, as there is not much to go on.  But if anyone has had the same experience and knows of a fix, we’d really appreciate it!

This turned out to be an arcane problem with curly quotes and the Iconv PHP library.  The Iconv library was missing from our PHP installation, but is required by the core CodeIgniter file Utf8.php.  Without it, any entries with curly quotes were apparently silently crashing PHP.  Thank you EllisLab for figuring this out!

Where should the Iconv library go?  Where can I get it?  I’m having the same issue….

I had to have my hosting company (LiquidWeb) install the Iconv library for me, as it was not available (that I could find) via Web Hosting Manager.
