Whenever I create a new entry or edit an existing entry it takes me to a blank page. It creates/changes the entry as instructed, but it takes me to the blank page which is really annoying to navigate back from. The back story here is that I’ve copied this site from a live server and was planning on trying some things on this version of it.

I’ve change all of the addresses in the general configuration page and have updated all of my database user names and passwords. I’ve even turned on debugging mode and checked the server logs for errors and neither display any. I’ve also tried dropping and re-adding the database for this site multiple times and have looked over the internet and couldn’t find the answer to my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you get a blank page also when logging in to the back end, or only when editing/adding an entry?  First thing I’d do is clear all caches to eliminate that possibility. (http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/tools/data/clear_cached_data_files.html)

It acts normal (no blank pages) when logging into the back end. It’s weird what will cause a blank screen and what won’t. For example, I have Structure installed and when I click “Save” or “Save & Close” it goes to a blank screen, but when I click “Save Revision” it acts normal. Another example is I can submit changes on the general configuration page just fine, but I got a blank page when I cleared the cache. Earlier, I cleared the cache manually in an effort to solve the problem but I did so again as you requested and I am still receiving the blank pages. Thank you for the response though!

I have a similar problem; the page isn’t blank—it looks like the View Entry page always has—but the body content isn’t there. Everything else is, but not the body content.

Again, the entry is posted/edited as it should be, and the View Entry page loads. It just has no content from the body field.

I had the missing preview issue too, and also thought this was a bug. However it turns out it was removed in EE 2.7.1:

Was there an explanation?

(N.B., I have stopped using EE on my site since my previous post in this thread.)

Not that I could find, and there seemed to be very little commentary about it in the community.

Oh well. Now that I’m no longer using it it’s no skin off my nose—except that this is one of the things that made me an ex-user in the first place.
