I have been developing on the “core” version of EE. Since we’re nearing launch—we purchased a commercial license. I don’t want to replace all the files from the version I’ve been working on, because I have custom environment variables and such.
However, when I go to input our license number in the control panel, the input is disabled. Changing the variable: $config[‘license_number’] to our license key does not update in the control panel… it continues to say “CORE LICENSE.”
Is it necessary for us to input the license if we’re using the core version for a commercial site? Or does simply having the license on-hand suffice in this case?
