    Really weird:

    http://www.mysite.com/news/dc.html/www.downtownsouthport.org/www.downtownsouthport.org/P90

We get a report about SEO “health” on a regular basis. The report showed a very high number of url’s with duplicate content (in the thousands)  Apparently this development occurred within the past week or so.

At one point we had a file called dc.html in the web root, but I have no idea how any of these segments got there.

A LOT of the duplicate content url’s end in /Pxx which of course is a pagination link.

Not sure what SEO tool you’re using, but you should be able to find more info on the example link you gave and find out what page it was referred from. I would guess that some of the relative dynamic links are working their way towards that link. You could also try a link gathering tool to crawl your site and look through the results.

Why would “www.downtownsouthport.org” be a part of our url, TWICE, even? That’s not our domain.

Sorry, a better question would have been :“Do you have any spam registrations where that URL might have been entered in the profile?”

No, I don’t think so. When I look at Members>Member groups to see the total number of people registered, the only people there are admins. The “Members” group and the “Pending” group are both zero.
