Hi,

Had a site hacked running Expression Engine 1 - suspect hosting issues but trying to fix this for my client before recommending an update to the latest version of EE.

I have read other posts where you recommend checking these files.

Can you point me to the directory I should check for these files as I can’t find the system folder in my install for instance.


index.php

admin.php

system/index.php

system/expressionengine/config/config.php

I have uploaded the file structure for the folder containing my EE install.

It appears that the parent folder that you have blurred out in the image above is your system folder. Also, it appears that you are looking at documentation for EE 2.x, as there is no admin.php file for EE 1.x. And the path system/expressionengine is an EE 2.x path.

Your EE 1.x directory structure could look something like this:

root
  |-index.php
  |-path.php
  |-system
    |-[all of the files and directories in your image above
  |-themes
