Hi all. I was curious if anyone has any knowledge of an add-on to handle a product subscription site.

Since I’m a Transformers collector, I’m going to use them as my example.

I as a user sign up for the site and upon signing up, I choose either Autobot or Deception. After entering in my information (mailing address, credit card info) and choosing my faction (Autobot vs. Deception), I am now signed up to receive a Transformer of that faction each month for a long as my subscription holds up.

There is no inventory that the site owner has to manage but whenever I as a user logs in, I see what Transformer is going to be sent to me for that month and there is a link for me to go to UPS to track the package. The only thing the site owner has to do is add in both products (one Autobot, one Deception) for that month and then enter in the tracking information once the package is sent to that subscriber. For the time being, the user cannot see what the other group is getting but that may change down the road.

I will admit that I haven’t done an e-commerce site before and this seems like a bit different than a traditional model. There is no shopping cart in a traditional sense. The user gets one item a month with no ability to buy more of that particular item nor can the user buy the item of the other faction.

The only real difference between my example and the actual site is that it will be four categories rather than two.

If there is anything I can clarify better, please don’t hesitate to ask. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    —jj
