FusionInvoice is a free and open source invoicing app built on CodeIgniter. Those of you who used MyClientBase in the past or still use it have an upgrade path to follow to migrate to FusionInvoice (FI replaces MCB). FusionInvoice is intended to provide freelancers and small (micro) businesses with a simple way to manage their invoices.

Please feel free to leave your thoughts.

This is a really nice step up from the MyClientBase, although I liked that one already. I like you switching to Bootstrap, which will ease creating a custom skin. The code is structured fairly similarly, but it already made sense before, so I guess that’s ok. I still need to give it a go on my server and see how I like the reports and pdfs.

What I would suggest is to make the create new forms as modals and to enhance a dashboard graphically with some visual indicators. I’m also wondering is do you have a repository set up somewhere for eventual contributions or would you just prefer to do it yourself.

Great work Jesse, keep at it.

Thanks for your post and your suggestions.

I use Bitbucket for source control and issue tracking, so, yes there’s a repository but the issue tracker is currently the only thing available to the public. The source isn’t made available until official releases are tagged.

Thanks for this! The tool looks great and I especially love being able to learn from the source code.

Hey - just wanted to let everybody know that FusionInvoice is still chugging along with a new release made this past week (version 1.2.7). Lots of bugfixes and a few enhancements. If you’re a freelancer looking for a simple (and free) way to manage your clients, quotes, invoices, payments, etc, I would highly suggest having a look at http://www.fusioninvoice.com. It’s, of course, built on CodeIgniter. I welcome all input, bug reports, suggestions, etc. The development repository is also available at https://bitbucket.org/jesseterry/fusioninvoice for those of you inclined to submit pull requests or language translations.

We use Fetchflow for online invoicing. It’s completely free and as good as other paid solutions we tested. Has quite some traction. & I would actually recommend it.

Hi! I also needed invoicing solution for my business. Currently I’m using http://inv24.com/ and I would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a free online invoicing software.
