I’ve had an EE site hacked. I’ve looked and looked and don’t see any suspicious code inserted in any php files - and I don’t see any htaccess file that’s causing trouble. Database appears to be intact. The site pages load, but only the text content displays - templates don’t load. Graphics don’t display and all links redirect to another domain. It really feels like a classic htaccess redirect hack, but I don’t see any file. Could it be hidden?

I’ve exported the database. What I want to try is to simply re-upload all the EE files, overwriting what’s on the server. Might this work? Second option - wipe everything off the server, reinstall EE and import the saved database. I’m nervous about doing this, because if it fails, the site’s completely gone, but I realize I might have to attempt this.

To clarify the process - I delete all files off the server, delete the database, then create a new empty database with the same name, then reinstall EE. Is this the right procedure?

All help here will be massively appreciated.

    Dave
