I have an EE 1.7 site running on one host.  Since I planned on changing web host, I decided to install EE 2.x on the new host while my old site is still on the old host.

I would like to export my old 1.7 database (weblog entries, comments and subscribers in particular) and import them to the new 2.x database.

Is there a recommended way to do this?  Any help would be appreciated as this will cut down on the time it will take to manually add articles to the new site.

The recommended way to do this is to follow the user guide and simply do the automatic ee upgrades from 1.7 to 2.5.5.  you’ll be amazed at the extraordinary improvements in ee2.

If you have an extremely complex site then you may need to read through the devotee upgrade from ee1 to ee2.  http://eeinsider.com/blog/details-on-devotee-upgrade/

    Good luck!
