    Hi,

In trying to figure out the puzzles you have thrown at us with your new service offerings, I have been searching the new forums. They are rather slow, compared to other forum softwtares. Sometimes waiting 10 seconds for a page to load with basically no graphics. Just FYI.

I just read your post, clicked the back button took 45 seconds to re-load the topics page.

Decide to post this backk to you and it took another 45 seconds to re-load again.

Did a trace route to http://www.ellislab.com and it takes 85ms to reach their rackspace cloud.

So it is in the software.

Sorry for the forum speed, everyone, we’re continually tweaking things to try and make it better. The forum software we’re running here on the site isn’t the same version that we sell, these forums have some extra features so they haven’t had the benefit of being tested by a wide community yet. Our server is also quite busy as it runs our support services too, so it’s likely a combination of things. But we’ve been gathering data at the PHP level so we can see exactly what the bottlenecks are so we can pinpoint those. Thank for you all for your patience!

While we’re at it can we do something about the lame spam infesting almost every thread - an example of which is clear above this post.

It can’t be beyond the wit of humankind to sort this.

i did manage to go and get more coffee whle page was loading. No so good. Hopefully this is something to do with the upcoming release or something, if they are making some adjustments…this might be something to do with the “check new version” also, if thousands of EE-sites are using it and there is something in codes at this end?

I doubt they are busy with anything, let alone fix it.

This website runs at Rackspace, and my guess is it’s using their cheapest plan. With crap performance as a result.

Clearly another sign that Ellislab finds users and the community extremely important…
