I am working on a new site, and I have an issue in which I’m not seeing any of the options when setting up custom fields.  Even a simple text input doesn’t allow me to set the length.  This is the first time that I’ve tried moving the system folder above the root, so maybe that has something to do with it.  However, I can see my add-ons and even make changes to the settings.  So there must be a conflict somewhere.  I’ve tried to disable my extensions and that didn’t help.  Any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hey there wbdzynr,

Thank you for posting your question.

It sounds like maybe the path to your themes might not be right. Can you double check perms and maybe upload the themes folder again to the right location.

You might also check with your hosting provider to see if Open Basedir is set. I would expect more to not work if that is the case, but it’s worth checking out.

    Thank you,

Thanks for your response Shane.  I checked the path to the themes folder about 100 times, thinking the exact same thing.  Finally today, I started uninstalling any add-ons that I had installed.  It turned out that one of them didn’t get completely uploaded to the themes folder.  After finding the problem add-on, I removed it completely, then re-uploaded the files and reinstalled.  Problem appears to be fixed!

    Hey wbdzynr,

Awesome. Lots of footwork, but it paid off. Glad to hear all is well.

I hate it when the resolution looks clear, but it does not work, like a path!

If you need anything else, please just let me know by opening a new thread.

    Cheers,
