This is my first MSM site so I am not sure if there is something I am doing wrong or another bug which relates to:

I have two sites with different domain names eg one is not on a subdomain but a completely different domain name. My MSM set up is so that site two creates entries which I want to show on site one (the original site).

Everything works fine for the title and text content using the site param in my channel entries tag both sites display these fine. I can’t get images to display on site one, site two where the entries are made displays the images fine. I have the full path to the images in the file upload directory and if I hard code the path into the template the image displays on site one fine.

I have tried the code in the bug tracker above but this has not fixed the issue, my issue is that the images will not display at all, it doesn’t matter if you are logged in as super admin or not.

I am running EE 2.5.3

Can you tell me if you replicated the file Upload Preferences from site 2 to site 1?

I would also like to see the code you use to build the image link and the rendered link.

No I didn’t copy any settings across when I created site 2.

My code for pulling in content from site 2 to site 1 is as follows:

So this is pulling from the secondary site into the main site?

What does the rendered page look like? I am curious to see what the image link looks like.

Where do you have the upload location defined? The File upload prefs have to be on the second site.

Yes this is pulling from the secondary site to the main site. The image link is empty it just displays:

<img  alt="">

The file upload prefs are on the second site and the second site displays the images fine.

I am having the same problem…. I have a Main site with all the channel data, including the images and file directories. It was working fine then i updated MSM and now on my child sites pulling from the main sites channel data all the other fields work fine just not the file custom field. The img tag is displaying the same results as above.

Hi Matthew, did you update your File_field.php file like the bug tracker post shows? I got it working in the end by making that change.
