    Hi Guys,

We are using EE 2.5.2 and we noticed something strange with the modified/edit date stored with each channel entry. It seems this field is adding extra hours to any entry we edit and save. Here is how we tested:

    Test1:
I added a new channel entry to my channel. The entry date for example will have today’s date and the time will be 8:30am but the modified/edit date is the same except the time is set to 9:30am. It’s adding about 1 hour more to the modified/edit date/time.

    Test2:
If I now go back to edit the entry in test1 above after only 5-10 minutes later and I save the entry the modified/edit date/time now adds 5 hours more to the time instead of just updating it with the current date and time.

I have checked both the EE localization settings and my user localization settings they are both correct. I’ve also checked our Ubuntu server date/time and they are correct. We never noticed this before until we installed Zenbu and started customizing our channel entry list display to show the edit date so we can sort by it.

Is there a reason for EE to be adding this many hours to the modified/edit date/time? Has anyone seen this before? Any help or clarification is much appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Mike

Can someone from EE verify if this is a bug please?

    Hi glenndavisgroup,

Thank you for posting your question.

This sounds like this bug. Except in your case your second save date is +5 hours which sounds like this bug where second save is GMT.

Does that sound about right to you?

    Cheers,

    Hi Shane,

Thank you for the reply. Yes, that’s exactly what’s happening. I will take a look at the bug reports and see if there is a work around and use that for now until the fix is applied. Thank you for verifying that for me.
