Hi guys. Just installed SafeCracker; allowed guests to post entries; set the member_id to a newly created Guest member; enabled that guest to post entries in the channel; coded my form…

All set I think, except my template says “The SafeCracker extension is not installed” when the CP says it is. Module and Extension both showing as installed. Any ideas?

    Hello Ian,

Thank you for posting your question.

That is really odd one. Hmmmmm.

What version of ExpressionEngine are you using.

Make sure that if it is an update, that SC File is not in Third Party as well. It’s a funky deal, but it will stop SC from working.

Grab the latest version (2.5.3) and put the content of SC in Third Party where it belongs on your server.

If this is confusing, and I know it might be, it was to me, then I can log in and take a poke at it.

    Thanks,
    Shane

Hi Shane. Thanks for getting back to me. I meant to close this yesterday but got sidetracked sorry. Problem fixed itself (which is always worrisome!). Errors on Monday but all fine on Tuesday without me changing a thing.

There’s another team of devs working on this (quite large) website, so I can only assume that something they were doing had impacted it briefly, although I can’t think what. Ah well. Thanks for the support.

    Hey Ian,

My pleasure. That really is a pain, I hate when stuff just starts working again. But at least there is a possible reason with the devs working on your server.

If anything pops up, please just let me know!

    Cheers,
