    Hi there,

I just updated one of my EE sites to 2.5.3.

I had many many images in the old installation that had spaces in the filename (don’t ask 😉 ). Anyway, after the update, the links to these images have been ‘automatically’ updated to display spaces as ‘+’ instead of ‘percent20’. For instance:

    /images/uploads/someimage.jpg
    has changed to
    /images/uploads/some+image.jpg

resulting in many imagepaths being broken.

Can I fix this in a way that does not involve manually renaming all the files?

    Thanks! 😊

    Hey there reinoud-jules,

I am afraid you have run into this bug. Which I am sorry is the case.

Can you try the fix in the bug and let me know if that helps?

    Cheers,

Hi Shane, thanks for your reply.

That is indeed the bug I encountered. I was on a tight schedule so I found another effective yet simple solution: downloaded all the files via FTP, replaced spaces with plus signs using Mac OS X’ Automator and reuploaded them. Worked like a charm!

I assume newly uploaded files will function properly? If not, I’ll follow the instructions in the bug tracker.

Thanks again, love EllisLab Support 😊

    Hey reinoud-jules,

Sounds like a decent fix. If the names are as expected, you should be good.

If not, try the fix. I will leave this open a few days just to make sure.

Have a great rest of the week and enjoy your weekend.

    Cheers,
