    When I click the FB Like button on a page such as:
    http://www.inspire2aspire.co.uk/blog/an-opportunity-to-learn-how-to-build-more-legs-for-your-marketing-platform/

    the link in Facebook is pointing to:
    http://www.inspire2aspire.co.uk/blog/an-opportunity-to-learn-how-to-build-more-legs-for-your-marketing-platform/?fb_action_ids=10151224232262108&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=288381481237582

    All that extra stuff is breaking at the site level and it just stays on the homepage.
    The template code for teh blog entry page is:

    {exp:channel:entries
    channel="{segment_1}”
    disable=“categories|category_fields|member_data|pagination|trackbacks”
    limit=“1”
    orderby=“date”
    sort=“asc”
    status=“open”
    dynamic=“no”
    url_title=”{segment_2}” }

    I’ve tried it with dynamic=“yes” and no url_title parameter.
    I’ve also tried switching Strict URL’s off but no luck.

    Has anyone else found this and a way to get round it?

    Hi moogaloo,

    I don’t have the same issues arise in the installation I just tested, so I’m wondering if it might be related to a particular config item. Could you check $config[‘uri_protocol’] in your config.php and let me know what it reads? If it’s not set to AUTO, could you try that?

    Also, is your installation set to use the site’s main page as the 404?

    Hi Kevin,

    I switched the uri_protocol to AUTO and it’s working fine now.

    Thanks loads for that.

    Out of interest, I’ve seen similar problems when a client sends out a MailChimp campaign that has Google Analytics on the links turned on and the extra strings on the end of the URL and it went to an error page saying about disallowed characters in the URL - is this a different issue?

    Nope, that would be the same issue since it’s the extra ? that’s giving PHP fits. Dan actually had a great post about the uri_protocol setting the other day in this thread. It’s definitely worth a read.

    oo blimey - that uri_protocol stuff is way over my head!!
    I actually came a cropper with uri_protocol before and wrote a light hearted story about it here - http://moogaloo.com/blog/the-mysterious-case-of-the-broken-url-rewrite/

    Ha! Yes, that can be tough to wrap your head around. Looks like you’re all squared away here, yes? Anything else I can do to help?
