    I’m having this and this problem. Empty tables in DB, and no way to update, automatically or manually.

    @todo cache full

    I’ve followed all the suggestions and eliminated the obvious fixes.

    I’m on 2.5.2 and it’s not an option for me to upgrade to 2.5.3 right now - given this is a documented issue experienced by others, unless this has been fixed in 2.5.3 I’d like to try and resolve on 2.5.2.

    Permissions are okay, plenty of disk space.

    I notice that if I put the unzipped files in the cache/ip2nation/ folder and try the update as a workaround, EE deletes those files (but not the zipped ones) and I get the same message, so it’s failing despite the fact the unzipped files are present and ready for import.

    As a short term fix, is it possible to you provide a downloadable SQL export of the tables, so I can get up and running quickly?

    Thanks

    Hi Daniel,

    There are some lines of code that need to be commented out and a few other tricks to get the IP 2 Nation update to push through.

    I’d certainly be happy to take care of it for you. Be on the lookout for an email from EllisLab!

    Cheers,

    Hi Dan,

    Thanks - I’d be much more confortable doing any changes to my install myself if you could let me have the details, either here or via email. No offence intended 😊

    Cheers,

    Daniel

    Hello, I have the same problem.

    I have just updated from 2.1.3 to 2.5.3
    My ip_to_nation tags now output nothing, example :
    {exp:ip_to_nation:world_flags type="text"}{ip_address}{/exp:ip_to_nation:world_flags}

    I’ve tried updating the IP Database via the module interface in the CP, but am getting the same message as Daniel, @todo cache full

    Please let me know how to sort this. It’s quite urgent as we rely on IP’s to determine whether to show our ecommerce features to users or not.

    I’ve just tried the new plugin from Andrew Weaver
    detailed here: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/220771/
    and I also get an empty output.

    After having a look in the two db tables it does seem that I am missing the required data to give me the output I need in the template.

    This site is with EngineHosting, not sure if that helps or not..

    Hi Luke,

    I think this might indeed have something to do with EngineHosting’s environment here. Could you ask them if they’ve disabled PHP’s ability to unzip the IP database update (which is downloaded to the server as a .zip) that the IP to Nation module uses to update its database?

    Hi,

    I’m having the same problems as Daniel. Could you PM me the solution?

    Thanks

    Sure thing, James. Be on the lookout for that email.

    For anyone else having this issue, please check with your host to see if they’ve disabled PHP’s ability to unzip files. That’s what’s causing the problem here, and it’s a function that’s necessary to update this module.
