I am hitting a few quirks since upgrading 1.7.3 -> 2.5.3
Category and Pagination links return 404s and variables in the URL also return a 404 page.
I have tried Strict URLs on and off with a combination of uri_protocol settings and am unsure what to try next to resolve this, any advise would be appreciated.

I ended up using a fresh install and pulling over my channel data and everything is working as expected now.
