Our site is running fine however we cannot access or make changes on the site…

when you go to EDIT CHANNEL ENTRIES page, and you click the TITLE of any item, that item does not appear another one does. So for example if you choose item #70 and click on it, you can see in the header that it is choosing title entry ID #11 not #70

then if you manually change the URL to be ID#70 you can see the correct item.

Also, you cannot click on many buttons on the page. they do nothing…

    Any ideas??

These things happen and the best, most effective resolution is to go to your last good DB backup and overwrite the corrupted DB.

    Hey sdeley,

    Wow, that’s a huge problem.

I would love to know how you got into this state before you move forward with any fixes. Did you recently upgrade? Software on the server updated recently?

It does sound like the DB is very confused and Enviromed’s suggestion is an excellent one, but before that it’s probably best to understand a bit more about why the DB is all funky town.

Oh, and if you have not already, check with your hosting provider and see if they have some snapshots. Most providers will keep those around for a few weeks, but some only keep them around for a few days. Whatever you end up doing, it’s good insurance to have a working backup of your DB. If this is not in your control, then please contact them asap and have them stick that backup in the root of your site.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

    Cheers,
