Im in the process of setting up a download page on our website for our software beta testing program. Users would have the capability of downloading the software with a unique identifier attached to that specific user. Once they download the software they have a 60 day trial period that becomes inactive after the sixty days.

I don’t know if there is way to do this in expression engine member section or a third party plug-in, but I would like to have the capability of controlling one download per user. After 60 sixty days, beta testers would not have the ability to download the plug-in from the download page.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi v3imaging,

There would be a few ways to cover this.

Out-of-the-box you could use channel entries assigned to the user as the author. The entry would have a file field that contains the file. Then the entry would be set to expire 60 days after publishing.

That would be a bit of overhead, but totally native.

If you wanted to use an add-on, Protected Links could be a great option.
