    Hi,

Can you advise on the best practice for this?

    EE2.5.2, latest MSM.

    Site 1 is: domain.com
    Site 2 is: domain.com/here
    Site 3 is: domain.com/there

Will need the standard supported method to remove index.php.

I tried following approaches from other forum threads, but it didn’t work. I think the problem is that domain.com will pick up domain.com/here, think it’s a 404 because there’s no template group for it, and redirect to its home page.

I’ll need .htaccess for the root folder (site 1) and one for each secondary site’s folder, correct?

    Thanks,

    Ben

    Hi Versa Studio,

The best practice is to use sub-domains or separate domains. MSM can be used with sub-folders.

    Some caveats:
If each site needs separate membership, you will need to prefix your cookies for each site.

I think the problem is that domain.com will pick up domain.com/here, think it’s a 404 because there’s no template group for it, and redirect to its home page.

It shouldn’t so long as “here” and “there” are valid directories on the server.

I’ll need .htaccess for the root folder (site 1) and one for each secondary site’s folder, correct?

    Indeed.

    Cheers,

    Dan,

Turns out it was my error, sorry.

This solved part of the problem though - http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/217487/

    Thx.
