Do wildcards work for this?  The docs do not seem to say one way or the other.

For example… I don’t want people pretending to be the President. So could I use simply *obama* or would I need to layout all the various iterations thereof?

    President Obama
    PresidentObama
    Barack Obama
    BarackObama
    Obama

    etc…

On a different, yet loosely related matter… I read on these forums that there are systemic limitations with the IP banning feature. Has that issue/bug been resolved?

    Thank you.

    Hi Brainwrek,

Yep, wildcards should work just fine. If you use these two lines in the username banning field, you should be good to go:

    *obama
    *Obama

What limitations of the IP banning feature are you referring to?

Ok, thank you for that.  Will test it out.

This is the issue I’m talking about:

    Wondering if it’s fixed?

It’s not been dealt with in ExpressionEngine yet, but as Shane noted, you can drastically extend the limit by changing the MySQL field type to MEDIUMTEXT from TEXT.
